Immigrants of the DMV is a community storytelling project on social media that shares snapshots of the daily lives of those who have immigrated. It was launched to provide a platform to share immigrant experiences and stories, and in doing so build community across the DMV. The project ultimately aims to contribute to a more nuanced and less stereotyped narrative on immigration by focusing on personal, everyday stories. One day each week, a different person ‘takes over’ the @immigrantsofthedmv Instagram, using photos and videos to share their story and day.
